A record number of light commercial vans (LCV) are now on the UK roads according to the latest figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). UK demand grew by 2.2% in February, marking 14 months of consecutive growth. 2023 full year figures show LCV’s grew by 21.0% to reach 341,455 units.
Reports show older vans are also being kept on the road for longer, with the average age at 8.9 years – a record high since 1994 and up from 7.7 years old in 2012!
This presents a fantastic opportunity for garages and factors alike.
